Ian Godson’s Associates
Ian’s long term involvement in the Rehabilitation Industry has
seen the establishment of many lasting associations with some of the
world’s leading corrosion experts and specialists in the many
fields of the industry.
Several key associates are profiled below:
Professor Brian Cherry
Dr. Zita Lourenco
Mr. Kevin Campbell

Professor Brian Cherry has been active in
corrosion research and consulting, for more than 40 years. The author/co-author
of
over 140 refereed publications, his book Corrosion in Australia
led to the establishment of the Corrosion Prevention Centre. Previously
Professor and Associate Dean (Research and Development) of the
Faculty of Engineering at Monash University, he retired in 1997
to join the University’s Centre for Advanced Materials Technology
(CAMT) in order to promote research and consulting in the fields
of corrosion and durability. His special interests include corrosion
prevention in reinforced concrete structures, corrosion inhibitors,
polymer degradation and the role of corrosion in mechanical failure.

Zita Lourenco has a PhD in Corrosion and Cathodic Protection of
Reinforced Concrete Structures, completed at Monash University in
Melbourne, Australia. Since 1990, involved in the investigation,
design and installation of various cathodic protection systems of
civil structures and utilities.
In 2001 she started ZetaCorr Lda, a corrosion control company in
Portugal. Since then, she has been responsible for the development
of the corrosion control business of the company and she has also
been responsible for corrosion studies, CP specifications, designs
and installations of steel and concrete structures. She has designed,
supervised the installation and monitored many cathodic prevention
system to new concrete structures.
Zita has published a number of technical papers in corrosion and
protection of reinforced concrete structures.

Btech (Civil Eng), FIEAust
Kevin is a Life Member of the Concrete Institute
of Australia and a Committee Member of the Road Engineering Association
of
Asia and Australasia.
He commenced his professional career working
on the design and construction of rural bridges and was a Regional
Manager of the
Cement and Concrete Association of Australia for 28 years.
For
many years Kevin has studied the performance of timber, concrete
and steel and the introduction of new materials and concepts for
the repair of structures. He has written numerous concrete technology
publications on durability, precast concrete, shotcreting, formwork,
tilt-up and precast concrete.
In 1994 Kevin founded Kevin Campbell
Consultants, specialising in Forensic Engineering on buildings
and civil engineering structures. |

David is on the editorial board of Cement and Concrete Research. He is now a Principal Fellow with the University of Melbourne after some 20 years in CSIRO as a scientist on durability & repair of concrete structures and later as research manager of Construction Materials Program. Between 1998 and 2003, he was invited as an Associate Professor to carry out research in Singapore and Hong Kong. While overseas, he was appointed Director of the Centre for Construction Materials and Technology in the University of Singapore.
David published some 80 technical papers on concrete durability, coatings, sustainable use of materials, and self-compacting concrete. |
