1987 Jointly formed Remedial Engineering in Melbourne and became founding Managing Director. Introduced new technology for investigations and repair.
1988 Negotiated major façade repair of Royal Insurance Building in Melbourne (A$2m)
1988 Studied Cathodic Protection (CP) of Concrete with Oronzio De Nora in Italy. Introduced concrete CP technology using activated Titanium to Australia. Did first CP trial work.
1989 First Concrete CP project using Titanium mesh in Australia (Mile Bridge-Vic)
Commenced PhD student in R&D on Concrete CP (Z Lourenco under Prof Cherry)
Remedial Engineering expanded to Sydney office
1990 Appointed President of Concrete Institute of Australia (Vic)

2000 Director responsible for the Sydney Opera House Sail repair project.
Invited to Libya to investigate Great Man Made River (GMRA) corrosion problems and recommend a CP solution
2001 Won Westgate Bridge strengthening project
2002 Director responsible for negotiation and managing the Corrpro acquisition in Australia. Head of Corrosion Management Division of Savcor.
Involved in CP of gas and water pipelines, tank bases and other steel structures.
2004 Left Savcor in February after 17 years to establish Ian Godson & Associates.
